01The Standard

The benchmark for environmental performance.

ISO 14001 is the most widely adopted environmental management standard in the world, applicable to any organisation regardless of size or sector.

ISO 14001:2015 sets the requirements for an Environmental Management System (EMS) that identifies, controls, and continually reduces the environmental impact of an organisation. It is built around lifecycle thinking, legal compliance, and measurable improvement.

Certification is the independent confirmation that your EMS meets those requirements. It is not a sustainability badge. It is evidence that your environmental commitments are managed, measured, and audited against an international benchmark.

03Why T4C

A certification body that values your time.

Three commitments that shape how we work, every audit, every client, every time.

Independence you can prove

As an accredited certification body, we are bound by impartiality rules. We audit your system, we do not consult on it. That separation is what makes the certificate worth issuing.

Speed without shortcuts

Streamlined onboarding, digital documentation handling, and tight audit planning compress timelines without compromising the depth of assessment. Quotes in 48 hours, audits scheduled to your calendar.

Recognition that travels

Backed by LABOR S.A., a Greek leader in conformity assessment with European Notified Body status (NB 2537). Your certificate carries credibility across EU markets and beyond.

04What You Gain

The business case for ISO 14001.

Certification is not paperwork, and it is not a green sticker. Here is what changes inside your organisation, and outside it, once your EMS is certified.

01

Meet tender and supply-chain requirements

ISO 14001 appears in a growing share of public tenders and large-buyer supplier codes, often as a pass or fail gate rather than a preference.

02

Stay ahead of environmental law

A maintained register of compliance obligations means legal changes reach your team before an inspector does.

03

Cut consumption and waste cost

Measuring energy, water, and waste streams exposes where money leaves the building. Reductions land on the P and L, not only in the annual report.

04

Substantiate your environmental claims

Independent certification is defensible evidence. It separates a managed environmental programme from marketing language.

05

Reduce incident and liability exposure

Identified aspects, controlled operations, and tested emergency preparedness lower both the likelihood and the cost of an environmental incident.

06

Support the reporting you already owe

The data discipline behind an EMS feeds the sustainability disclosures that customers, lenders, and regulators increasingly request.

From offer acceptance to certificate issuance, expect 6 to 12 weeks for most small and mid-sized organisations that already have an environmental management system operating. The variables are the number of sites, the complexity of your environmental aspects, and how quickly any Stage 1 findings are closed out.

The price depends on the size of your organisation (typically measured by number of employees and sites), the scope of activities to be certified, and the complexity of your environmental aspects and permits. We quote per organisation rather than from a price list, and the offer covers the full three-year cycle including surveillance audits, so there are no surprises later.

No, and that is by design. Accreditation rules and impartiality requirements explicitly prohibit a certification body from consulting on the system it later audits. We assess your EMS, we do not design it. If you need implementation support, engage an independent consultant. Keeping those roles separate is precisely what makes the certificate worth holding.

ISO 14001 certificates are valid for three years. During that period we conduct annual surveillance audits to confirm the EMS continues to operate effectively and that your compliance obligations remain current. A recertification audit takes place before the three years expire.

Certificates are issued under the accreditation scope of LABOR S.A., the parent organisation behind T4C. LABOR S.A. has operated as a Greek leader in testing, inspection, and certification since 1996 and holds European Notified Body status (NB 2537). T4C is the streamlined, modern face of that established conformity-assessment capability.

Yes. If you hold a valid ISO 14001 certificate from another accredited body, we can transfer it to our scope after a streamlined review of your existing documentation, your most recent audit reports, and any open findings. Your existing certification cycle and surveillance dates are normally preserved.

Audits happen in two stages. Stage 1 is a readiness review, on site or remote, covering your environmental aspects and impacts register, your compliance obligations, your scope, and your management structure. Stage 2 is the full assessment: we sample operational controls, monitoring data, emergency preparedness, internal audits and management review to confirm the EMS works in practice and not only on paper. If you already hold ISO 9001, or want it, both standards can be assessed in a single combined audit.
